Following the postponement of our event in 2026, we’re excited to bring the NIR community together in Melbourne for three days of learning, discussion, collaboration and connection.
A conference for the NIR community
ANISG 2027 brings together NIR technology users, researchers, students and industry representatives with a shared interest in near infrared spectroscopy research, applications, and developments.
- Share research, practical experience and new applications across the NIR spectrum.
- Explore the versatility and value of NIR in research, industry and real-world decision-making.
- Connect with major suppliers of NIR instruments, equipment and software in the conference exhibition area.
- Build relationships across Australia’s NIR community and beyond.
Exhibitor opportunities
An industry exhibition will run alongside the conference, providing opportunities to see technologies and software, talk with vendors and connect research with real-world applications.
Specialist workshops
The conference will be preceded by a day of specialist workshops on Monday 5 April. The workshops will provide opportunities for deeper learning, practical discussion and skills development before the main conference begins on 6 April.
Abstract submissions are now open
The Australian Near Infrared Spectroscopy Group (ANISG) invites submissions for presentations at the 21st ANISG Conference. Under the theme Riding the Wavelength: NIR insights for a brighter tomorrow, ANISG 2027 will showcase the breadth, versatility and value of near infrared spectroscopy, from fundamental research and method development through to practical applications and emerging technologies. Abstracts should be submitted as a word document using the format in this template. Please submit your abstract to the secretary (secretary@anisg.com.au
We welcome contributions covering NIR research, applications, innovation and real-world experience, including:
- Advances in NIR spectroscopy and instrumentation
- Calibration development, validation and model transfer
- Chemometrics, machine learning and data analytics
- Agriculture, grains, food and feed applications
- Pharmaceutical, environmental and industrial applications
- Process monitoring and real-time measurement
- Portable, handheld and in-field NIR technologies
- Imaging and hyperspectral applications
- Method robustness, standardisation and measurement consistency
- Novel and emerging applications of NIR
- Studies demonstrating the practical value of NIR
A great time for students to take part
The April timing provides a particularly good opportunity for students and early-career researchers to attend, develop their NIR knowledge and build connections with experienced researchers, practitioners, suppliers and fellow students. Supervisors and research groups are encouraged to include students and support the next generation of the NIR community.
Make Melbourne part of the experience
April is a wonderful time to experience Melbourne. Extend the conference visit to enjoy the city’s renowned food and coffee culture, laneways, markets, galleries, gardens and sporting precincts, or use Melbourne as a base for exploring regional Victoria. With AgriBio providing an excellent scientific setting and Melbourne offering plenty to enjoy beyond the conference program, ANISG 2027 combines professional connection with a memorable destination.
We look forward to welcoming Australia’s NIR community to Melbourne in April 2027.
